"We've been hard at work!" Says Tom Couture - Activities chairman of the Acadian Committee. A new infrastructure of the committee was instilled and new ideas were brought to the table, with the introduction of a new mascot which is being kept top secret until it's unveiling on June 25th at the re-instated "Opening Ceremony"
A new center of activities, will be appropriately assigned to the "Bi-Centennial Park". Which will serve as the core of the festival, says Luc Devost; Artistic Director and webmaster. Jane Carter- President of the
Acadian Festival Committee, says the new ideas and new center of activities, will be a welcomed change for the residents of
Madawaska and festival attendees. The long time favorites of previous festivals is still in the repertoire. This year we are adding new activites and new faces. On the schedule, the return of "La famille Arseneault" , "Arthur Leblanc" , "Les Chanteurs Acadiens" will share the stage with "La famille Leblanc".
We are introducing this year, "Timber
Tina's Great Maine Lumberjack Show" which promises to
be a major hit at the festival. Also, a new added feature is, "My Acadian Valley" guided tour. This year's celebrated family is the "Marquis".
Last but not least, the
newly updated webpage. We hope our web surfers will find it refreshing and inviting. Make sure to check out all the pages , there is a lot to look at and take in. On behalf of all the committee members, we wish you a happy festival in 2009.
